I’m so sad that the Botanical Blooms stamp set it retiring. I love it and the matching Botanical Builders Framelits and I have seen so many gorgeous cards made with them. Since they are retiring, I thought I would share a card I made using both the stamp set and framelits.
While the Botanical Blooms stamp set is great for any type of card, I tend to use it for birthdays because I have so many birthday cards that I send out to family and friends.
Photopolymer stamps make it so much easier to cut out the pieces and then stamp the details on them and I do love being able to give my cut or punched pieces some detail or shading. The flowers didn’t have the detail stamp, so I sponged the center of the larger flower with some Blushing Bride ink and the edges of the smaller flowers with some Melon Mambo ink.
In addition, I really love the background on this card, too, using the Detailed Floral Thinlits. I am so glad that this thinlit won’t be retiring. I’m looking forward to using it for more cards. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful card ideas for it, too. For this card, I used the smaller section for both sides.
Finally, I used the really small pearls to give some more detail to my Botanical Blooms birthday card. I’ve been looking for something to use those really small pearls on and when I saw the card that I CASEd from Pinterest, I saw that they had used several of them on their card. These particular pearls have been discontinued and are all sold out now. But, don’t worry. Stampin’ Up! is reconfiguring the pearls and rhinestones packages and they will be available again in the new catalog, coming June 1.
Henceforth, with the Botanical Blooms stamp set or the Botanical Builders Framelits only being available until the end of May, or while supplies last, whichever comes first, you’ll need to pick them up before they are gone.
