I like to use PageMaps.com for my page layouts most of the time because they have such great layout ideas and they come out with new ones each month. I tend to not be very creative when it comes to making page layouts, so I need a lot of help. When I saw this page layout, the first thing I did was look through my photos that I still needed to scrapbook to see where I had several photos from the same event. Then I looked to see what papers and embellishments would go with those photos. I really loved the sun and clouds that were in the layout and fortunately, I had a cute sun and some clouds from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Ensemble. The flowers on the right page borders along the top are from the Convention 2011 Designer Template.
For the title area, I cropped the Top Note Punch to the size I wanted and overlapped two layers of the Flag Punch to make the double-flagged section for the subtitle. Then I shrunk the Tasteful Trim Shape 1 to fit below my clouds. Then around the First Edition Designer Series Paper, I added some decorative stitching from Simple Stitches & Corners. Since we can crop embellishments now, I was able to crop each line of stitch to the size that I wanted instead of having to figure out how to cover part of it up. Oh, and I did use the Tasteful Trim Shape 1 for the right edge of the Soft Sky piece.
The great thing about Designer Templates that come with papers, embellishments, stamps and page templates all together is because there is so much you can do with them. Check out the huge variety of templates available for MDS in my online store. Just click on the “Shop Online” button below and type in “templates” to see them.
If you like what you see, pass it on.
