I have gotten to where I do more elaborate cards and pages with MDS than I do with my paper card making and scrapbooking, so it was kind of hard to do just a simple card. But I’m happy with the way it came out.
The two decorative strips below the little bear are from Nursery Embellishments. You can now crop embellishments in MDS. So I cropped the pink border that says “little one”, then I shaped the crop with the Flag Punch. I used two different splatters on the background. The one with the smaller splatters is part of the new Splatter feature in MDS. The other one is from French Foliage. I love how the splatter keeps the card from looking so plain. It really adds some character to it. The baby greeting is from A Word For You.
The cute little teddy bear came from the Little Additions Stamp Brush Set, which is included in the content of MDS. I made it Early Espresso. Then I add a freeform layer and added some Crumb Cake for his legs and tummy, some Regal Rose for his nose and some Basic Black for his eyes. It is best if the freeform layers go behind the layer where you are filling in the color. Then you don’t have to be really precise with your coloring. Then I added a small heart punch and filled it with Real Red. And the final touch was some Primrose Petals Designer Thread for the little bow around his neck.
Feel free to go ahead and CASE my baby card. You don’t have to create a baby card. Just use the layout design for your own card. Happy creating.
