I love to do quilling but haven’t done it for a while now. But when I saw a beautiful card by Francine Signorell in my Yahoo quilling group, I just had to use it as inspiration. Of course, I made some changes to it, too.
The card background is embossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This embossing folder was first introduced in the Holiday Mini Catalog and is being carried over into the Occasions Mini Catalog. I always love being able to add texture to my card backgrounds with the embossing folders. The valentine greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped with Real Red Ink.
I don’t have the Heart Collection Framelits, which would have made it a lot easier to cut out the heart to put over the background so I had to cut it out the old fashioned way from a piece of scrap paper. Then I used that as a template to cut one out of card stock. Then I outlined the heart with the quilled shapes and the flowers.
Of course, I used Whisper White for the card background and for my quilling strips and the flowers. Then I added some Basic Rhinestones to the butterfly and flowers to give them some sparkle. I really love the way this card came out and can’t wait to give it to DH tonight when he gets home from work.
Did you make a Valentine for that someone special in your life? Have you thought about trying a quilled valentine card?
If you like what you see, pass it on.
