I created these digital gift boxes using the That’s a Wrap Digital Kit. I told you the other day about the cards and the card folder that I made for my Mom for her birthday.
For these boxes, I printed out two each of the lighter patterned papers from the template and used my Simply Scored to create the boxes and matching lids, after figuring out the measurements for each box.
I grouped the pieces for the bows together and then shrunk them down to fit a half page, instead of using a whole page. I figured that would be a better fit for my boxes than bigger bows. For the bows, one side of the sheet is filled with the patterned paper you want to use while the other side has the filled punches for you to cut out so you can create the bow. When I first got this template, I tried it out on some plain paper just to see how it worked. I know I will be using these bows some more for other presents, whether they are for Christmas or other occasions. With the punches for the bows included in the template, it is so easy to change out the paper that is already there to whatever paper you choose to use. To make the bands around the boxes, I just printed some more of the same designed paper that the bows were made with and cut a couple of strips to glue together around the boxes.
I liked this tag for both of my presents, so I left one the Summer Starfruit because it went well with the paper of the smaller box. Then I copied it and recolored it Calypso Coral to go with the other box.
I really like the way both boxes came out. I know I will be making more to use for Christmas presents, especially now that I have That’s a Wrap Digital Kit. Making the bows is so fun and easy, too. And other than the card stock that I used to print everything on, everything was from MDS 2 and That’s a Wrap Digital Kit.
Oh, that’s right, I did stamp one of the circles from Mixed Bunch with Summer Starfruit and punched it out to use on the center of the one bow. If I’d thought of it sooner, I would have just put the digital version on the page with the bow pieces and printed it out with them. But since I didn’t think about it in time, I just stamped it instead.
Try making your own Digital Gift Boxes. Just print a design on your cardstock and then score it where you want the folds to be and glue the corners. You don’t even have to have That’s a Wrap Digital Kit, but it does make it for fun to make the bows to go on the Digital Gift Boxes.
