Well, it’s Monday and time for another Monday Color Challenge. The colors for this week’s challenge are Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy and Marina Mist.
The page is did for this week’s Monday Color Challenge doesn’t use as many downloads as I usually do. All of the Designer Series Papers and the stamps above the title are all from the Afternoon Tea II Digital Kit. I had really loved the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper when it was in the catalog. So when Afternoon Tea II was released as a download, I just had to get it. The colors in the digital download are a little different than the paper that was in the catalog. That is why it has II at the end of the name.
So I basically used colors from the paper, except that I used Tangerine Tango for the stamps instead of the Peach Parfait that is part of the kit. I think the Tangerine Tango goes really well with the rest of the colors on the page and I wanted to use a current color.
To create the photo tabs, I just used a couple of brads and stretched one out vertically for the oblong part of the photo tab. Then I layered them and grouped them. I then added a Taffeta bow to it and resized the width without changing the height. The only other download I used was the stitching. Admittedly, the color of the stitching is Chocolate Chip, but it’s kind of hard to tell. I could have recolored it, but it’s not real noticeable that it doesn’t match the paper color.
And, I finally got to use the new Paper Ripping feature in MDS 2. Because the shadow doesn’t work right on the paper after you rip the edge, I did one that was Basic Gray, ripped the edge and then copied that. Once I pasted it in place, I recolored it to Whisper White and moved it to the left two spaces. That gives the effect of a little bit of a drop shadow and it doesn’t look so flat. I have really been wanting to try out this new feature but kept forgetting about it.
So now it’s time to join this week’s Monday Color Challenge. Create your project using these colors and then share the link to it in the comment area below or on my Facebook Page. I would love to see what you come up with for this week.
