When I started my photo album in “My Digital Studio”, I chose the page layouts with the Sunny Days Designer Kit. But I needed to add some pages to my album since there weren’t enough pre-designed pages to make the 22 page minimum for an album. So I created some of my own designs. This is one of them.
For the background, there was a paper with a diagonal slant to it, but it didn’t look quite right. So I added another layer of the same paper, rotated it 90 degrees and lowered the opacity to 50%. Very quick and easy way to make a plaid from stripes. I also added some stamping over the photos to give it a different look so that it wasn’t so plain.
The nice thing about doing this on a digital page is that if you decide that you don’t like it, you can remove it. With paper scrapbooking, you can’t. I’m not saying that this will totally replace my paper scrapbooking. But I can sure do things here that I probably wouldn’t do with the paper one. I know I will have both paper and digital scrapbooks. They each have their advantages and I love doing both.
Another nice thing about My Digital Studio is that you can individual pages printed out to add to an existing scrapbook or you can have a whole album printed up. There’s a choice of three different types of covers, too: the photo cover, the linen cover or the leather-bound cover. For my album, I’ve chosen the photo cover. Once I get it ordered and get it back, I will post a photo of the finished album.
Be sure to check back tomorrow to see the cute card I made for one of my granddaughters for her birthday. Just a hint. It’s done with punches.
